Judy Linnell RWSW
Creative Landscape in Watercolour
Tuesday 27th –
Thursday 29th June
Judy has a degree in Fine Art and a postgraduate certificate in art education. She has painted all her life and taught for the past thirty years, running workshops, contributing to books on watercolour and tutoring painting holidays in Corsica, Crete and Pembrokeshire where she now lives. She has had many group and solo shows over the years and has exhibited in London with the R.I. at the Mall Galleries and at the Bankside Gallery. She exhibits locally in Pembrokeshire and was elected a member of The Royal Watercolour Society of Wales in 2010.
Judy loves the vibrancy and fluidity of watercolour and likes to explore its unique qualities to the full, taking risks, experimenting and using all kinds of mark making devices to express herself. Her approach is spontaneous, intuitive, painterly and loose, tending towards abstraction rather than figurative representation.
The aim of course is to encourage students to bring an immediate and spontaneous quality to their work and to help them to express themselves imaginatively. She encourages students to work at their own pace and in their own direction in order to develop a personal style – with the help of lots of demonstrations and individual feedback.
