Painting the poetic-Making and Painting a Triptych
Tuesday 18th – Thurs 20th July
Eleanor has a broad range of teaching experience and her own art school in Ullapool: Bridge House Art. She is also involved in community education and travelling workshops. She is a visiting tutor at the Leith School of Art, Edinburgh and is an enthusiastic and inspiring tutor.
This exciting three day course will guide you through the creative process of designing and constructing a small folded panelled triptych which will hold narrative images gathered from both the landscape and from more intimate sources going between distant and close up studies of nature. The human figure may enter the scene by collecting images from magazines, existing paintings or from reflected images in windows. Time spent in the studio will be given to develop the initial images using a wide variety of mixed media. These small triptychs offer the chance to gather considered images of either an observational or a more abstracted nature, allowing scope to create a personal and beautiful object that reflects the images gathered from the time spent over the three days at Jack beck House. The materials to make the Triptych will be provided by the tutor Eleanor White.
